Attorney Profile

Amee J. Lunn

Compassionate Counsel, Practical Solutions

Amee J. Lunn is a first-generation American, born to parents who immigrated to the United States from India. Fluent in Gujarati, she was raised in New York and earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Alfred University in 1995 before pursuing her law degree at Quinnipiac University School of Law in Hamden, Connecticut. She was admitted to the Connecticut Bar in November 1998, and later admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut.

Attorney Lunn began her legal career in civil litigation, representing plaintiffs before later serving as in-house counsel for Allstate and Encompass Insurance, where she represented defendants. She tried numerous cases to verdict in the Superior Courts of Bridgeport, New Haven, Waterbury, and Stamford.

In the early 2010s, Attorney Lunn transitioned her practice to focus on probate, elder law, and estate planning — an area of law she discovered through her work in the probate courts, and one that gave her something she had been looking for: meaningful, purpose-driven work that lets her combine legal skill with genuine care for the people she serves. She finds deep fulfillment in supporting clients and their families through later life planning and the many challenges that elderly and disabled individuals face, and she equally enjoys working with families at every stage of life to plan ahead — so that their own wishes, rather than the default outcomes under the law, guide what happens to their families and their assets.

Attorney Lunn serves as private counsel and as court-appointed counsel in Connecticut’s probate courts, most often in the East Haven–North Haven, Wallingford, Hamden–Bethany, New Haven, Cheshire, and Shelton courts. Her probate work includes estate administration, conservatorships, guardianships, and probate litigation, and she has served the courts directly as Attorney, Conservator, Guardian, and Guardian Ad Litem.

She is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association and its Elder Law Section, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, and she serves on the Town of North Haven’s Commission on Aging.
